My favorite part about writing this is that I not only know Jacob, to some degree, but I got to discuss my theories of his book with him (they will not be included in this writeup). Even more fun was that Jacob seemed not only to indicate that my theories were correct, but he seemed to appreciate that I was able to discern the nuances of his story. The following is a quick review of Jacob Nordby’s The Divine Arsonist.

"The Divine Arsonist" is a memoir by Jacob Nordby, published in 2014. The book chronicles Nordby's spiritual journey and his search for meaning and purpose in his life.

Nordby begins the book by describing his upbringing in a conservative Christian family and his struggles with the rigid dogma and narrow beliefs that were imposed upon him. He then takes the reader on a journey through his personal and spiritual transformation, which was catalyzed by a chance encounter with a mysterious stranger who he refers to as "the Firestarter".

Throughout the book, Nordby shares his experiences with mystical and transcendental states of consciousness, and his encounters with various spiritual teachers and healers. He also explores the themes of creativity, intuition, and the power of the human imagination to shape reality.

Overall, "The Divine Arsonist" is a thought-provoking and inspirational book that invites readers to question their own beliefs and explore the deeper dimensions of their own consciousness. Nordby's writing is engaging and poetic, and his insights into the nature of spirituality and creativity are both profound and accessible.

One of the strengths of the book is Nordby's willingness to be vulnerable and share his own struggles and doubts, which makes the book feel more authentic and relatable. However, some readers may find the book to be overly esoteric or mystical, and may struggle to connect with some of the more abstract concepts and ideas that Nordby explores.

Overall, "The Divine Arsonist" is a compelling and inspiring memoir that will appeal to readers who are interested in spirituality, creativity, and personal transformation.
