Lately, we’ve learned that a billionaire collects Nazi memorabilia and bribes Supreme Court Justices. Before Clarence Thomas’ obviously compromised state was made public, I had never heard of Harlan Crow. Here’s what I learned.

Harlan Crow is an American businessman, philanthropist, and conservative political activist. He was born on June 9, 1950, in Dallas, Texas, and is the son of Trammell Crow, founder of the real estate development firm Trammell Crow Company.

After graduating from Southern Methodist University in 1972, Crow joined the family business and eventually became CEO of the Crow Family Holdings, a private investment firm. He has been involved in a wide range of business ventures, including real estate development, oil and gas exploration, and private equity.

Crow is also known for his conservative political activism and philanthropy. He has donated millions of dollars to conservative causes and candidates, including the Heritage Foundation, the Federalist Society, and the Republican National Committee. He has also been involved in efforts to promote school choice and reform public education.

In addition to his political activities, Crow has been a major art collector and patron of the arts. He has donated significant sums to support cultural institutions and has served on the boards of several museums and arts organizations.

Crow has been the subject of controversy at times, particularly with regard to his political contributions and involvement in controversial issues. However, he remains a prominent figure in the business and political worlds, and his philanthropy and civic engagement continue to have a significant impact on many areas of American life.
