When I was an exchange student in Germany, my host mother made delicious foods I had never even heard of, including Käsespätzle. I asked her if she would teach me to make it. She replied matter-of-factly: no. She explained that I could learn the recipe if I had been her daughter, but as a male exchange student, there was no way. She didn’t anticipate the internet, however. Here is a Käsespätzle recipe:
