In the world of business, for better or worse, first impressions matter quite a lot. When people arrive at your business’s location, whether they’re potential investors, collaborators or clients, you want them to be impressed by what they see. But that’s not always going to be the case, especially if you don’t put some thought and effort into the visitor experience. Here are some of the ideas you can use to improve it moving forward.

Make Sure the Reception Desk is Helpful and Swift

The reception experience that your business offers to visitors is something else that’ll be very important. You want to make sure that it’s as swift and easy as possible for them. The receptionist should be helpful and answer any questions they might have; they’re there to help after all. Giving your reception staff extra training in how to get this right might be a good idea too.

Be sure to use visitor sign in sheets to ensure a record of who has visited and gain valuable information to add to your CRM.

Provide a Warm Welcome

Providing a warm welcome to anyone and everyone who arrives at your business’s headquarters is important. Make sure they know that you’re pleased to see them and don’t make them feel like they’re getting in the way. A warm welcome might not sound like much but it really can make a big difference and make your visitors feel truly appreciated. That can only be a good thing.

Ensure They Have a Smooth and Easy Parking Experience

It’s often the simple things and the things we so often take for granted that matter most. For example, can your visitors find a place to park and is that parking experience as smooth and straightforward as it can be? If not, they’ll probably arrive at your entrance flustered and annoyed. So instead, create a parking area and use driveway paving professionals to make it smooth and easy to drive on.

Stay on Top of the Exterior Appearances

It’s also a good idea to stay on top of the external appearances of your property. When people first arrive at your headquarters, they’re going to see your building and if it looks messy and like it hasn’t been properly cleaned or maintained for years, they're obviously not going to be impressed. And those negative first impressions can be pretty hard to shift.

Be on Time

Finally, you should remember the importance of being on time. Yes, your workplace might be hectic and you might be trying to keep 10 plates spinning at the same time. But the visitor who you’ve agreed to meet up with at a precise time isn’t going to care about any of that. All they care about is their arrangement with you and they won’t want to be left waiting around.

If you make the most of each of the tips and ideas that’s discussed here, you should be able to ensure that all of the visitors who arrive at your business are impressed and have a positive experience. That helps you get past that first hurdle and move onto your next business objectives.
